Geoff Geupel

Geoff Geupel is the Director of Strategic Partnerships, and a member of the senior management team at Point Blue Conservation Science. Geoff has been heavily involved in the SJV for many years and served as our Management Board Chair for a whopping seven years! Geoff started his career in 1980 as a field biologist intern at Point Blue and has since worked for the organization in different ways, including spending 18 years as director of their Terrestrial Program. In his current role, Geoff works closely with many partners to assess the impacts of restoration, land-use and climate change on wildlife populations and ecosystems services with the goal of putting better, more appropriate practices on the ground to improve conservation outcomes. His passion is making monitoring data and science relevant to public and private land managers. Geoff is currently chair of Partners in Flight’s National Steering Committee and immediate past-chair of the Sonoran Joint Venture. Geoff’s favorite species in SJV area is currently Le Conte’s Thrasher, and he has a soft spot for Wrentits.
