Elroy Masters

Elroy Masters has spent his entire 28-year career with the Bureau of Land Management. Most of his work has been centered on the desert southwest working in Yuma, Lake Havasu City, and Phoenix, but with stints in Washington D.C. and Nevada. He has served in his current position as Arizona BLM’s State Fish and Wildlife Program Lead since 2009. His involvement in the Sonoran Joint Venture began in 2010, serving on the board, as well as the Science Working Group. Elroy’s background is in fish and wildlife management, landscape planning, habitat restoration and monitoring. He received his BA in Biology with Emphasis in Fish and Wildlife Management for Northern Arizona University in 1993. For Elroy, riparian areas are his favorite bird habitat. He explains, “Growing up in the desert southwest, you can’t over emphasize the importance of riparian habitat to so many species. I have always enjoyed the challenges and reward of riparian restoration.”
