Project Description
A partnership from the U.S. and Mexico will work together to develop a detailed monitoring program for wetland birds in critical sites of northwest Mexico. The program will address issues to standardize sampling schemes, temporality of surveys, field protocols, data integration and reporting, as well as the use and distribution of the information for the conservation of priority wetland birds and their habitats. The program will also offer opportunities to develop the capacity in Mexico for implementing long-term monitoring initiatives and to link monitoring with the management of Natural Protected Areas, Ramsar Wetlands, and Western Hemisphere Shorebird Reserve Network sites.
