2013 SJV Awards Program Recipients Announced

We are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2013 SJV Awards Program small grants.   • Long-term waterbird monitoring of critical habitat and priority species of the estuaries and islands of the eastern Midriff Island Region of Sonora (Prescott College, Sonora, Mexico)
  • Creation of a habitat map and mapping critical habitat for priority waterbird species in Estero Santa Cruz (Prescott College, Sonora, Mexico)
  • Marsh Bird Survey Training Workshop (USGS-University of Arizona, Arizona, USA)
  • Increased shorebird monitoring and training in southern Sonora (Alamos Wildlands Alliance, Sonora, Mexico)
  • Conservation Action Plan for the San Jacinto Valley Important Bird Area: balancing wildlife, agriculture, and communities in Riverside County (National Audubon Society, California, USA)
  • Grassland Birds Best Management Practices pocket guide (Audubon Arizona, Arizona, USA)
  • Breeding phenology and reproductive success of Rufous-winged Sparrow in the Sonoran Desert as indicators of climate change in northwest Mexico (Sonora State University, Sonora, Mexico)
